Our Journey
What started as anidea will be a realityeventually
The Maltiti Foundation was established in 2018 with the primary goal of addressing the needs of women residing in the rural areas of northern Ghana. Recognizing the numerous challenges faced by women in this region, such as unemployment, inadequate healthcare, and poor nutrition, the organization’s founders saw the importance of intervening and filling the existing gaps.
Similar to other organizations in the area, the Maltiti Foundation took a comprehensive approach to address the issues raised by the women during their initial community stakeholder engagement. It was concluded from these discussions that the women needed opportunities to improve their livelihoods and not solely rely on the support of their spouses. This realization motivated the foundation to step in and make a difference in the lives of these women. Looking back, the foundation is proud of its accomplishments and remains optimistic about the future.
Since its establishment in 2018, the foundation has successfully implemented various projects and initiatives aimed at empowering economically disadvantaged women in rural Ghana. Notably, the annual Women in Agric Project has created employment opportunities for over 350 women. Additionally, the Health and Tourism Project, initiated in 2018, has provided quality healthcare to more than 6000 beneficiaries. The foundation has also partnered with renowned organizations like the Ford Company Fund and Innovate UK to implement projects and conduct research aligned with its objectives.
