Coronavirus: Maltiti Foundation donates hand sanitizers to Nima residents

Maltiti Foundation, a non-governmental organization, has donated boxes of hand sanitizers to some Nima residents in Accra.

They also sensitized residents on how to protect themselves against the coronavirus pandemic which has infected over a million people globally.

According to the Foundation, the move is aimed at equipping the less privileged in society to fight against the disease which is causing a lot of havoc worldwide.

Speaking to the Co-founder and Executive Director of the Organization, Ewura Adams Karim, he admonished Ghanaians to adhere to the precautionary measures outlined by the Ghana Health Service and the World Health Organization in order to curb the spread of the disease.

“We came here to donate boxes of hand sanitizers to some residents in this community. This the little we, as a foundation, can do to help in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus. We also educated those in the community on the need to adhere to the safety precautions given to us by Health officials in order to stop the spread of the virus. The number of cases in the country is increasing and so we urged Ghanaians to adhere to the basics of hand washing and then social distancing,” Adams Karim said

As of Tuesday, Ghana has confirmed 275 cases of the coronavirus with 5 deaths.

Three patients have however recovered and over 40 others have been discharged from various health facilities for home treatment.
